HOW
SWUIC offers a large variety of English courses related to sustainability. All the courses are taught by our lecturers who have professional experiences offering opportunities to learn outside the classroom. Also, The College has had collaborations with partner academic institutions in other countries to develop curricula and faculty capacity (Student exchange program, double degree, and visiting professors). Our program is different from other hospitality and tourism programs in that it fosters sustainability consciousness and systematic thinking skills that are vital for the future workforce and humanity.
SWUIC
Serves the knowledge based on sustainability and internationalization, enhances life-long learning and research inhospitality and tourism, cultural diversity and internationalization, provides services related to language and communication including English proficiency tests, training courses, translation and editing service. The students will have career opportunities with any kind of Hospitality and Tourism organization such as hotel, travel agencies, airline and other types of business, which require customer service professionals.

Sustainability Trend
Nowadays, sustainability has become a global trend that is related to the tourism industry. We believe in sustainable tourism which includes ecotourism. Ecotourism is to make an income distribution and also conserve natural resources for the next generations in the future while traveling. Because resources are disappearing, sustainability is a tool to protect our world to the end. However, sustainability in Thailand is still undeveloped and falls behind other countries. We believe that our college will be a part of sustainable development and make this trend well known.

Message from Dr. Chution Savini, advisor of SWUIC -HTM Wildlife Conservation and sustainability Group (SWC)

"I do believe that a passion for conservation can flow through anyone's life, whatever their day job. We want to inspire today's young people to a long-term belief in the wonder of the natural world, which will shape their dreams and actions however their life turns out."
Dr. Chution Savini was the wildlife scientist for Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). She worked as a manager for conservation project. She received her B.S. in Biology from Prince of Songkhla University (1995), M.S. (2000) and Ph. D (2007) in Wildlife Ecology Program from Department of Environmental Biology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Thailand. She has been a full-time lecturer at the International College for Sustainability Studies (SWUIC), Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand).
Dr. Chution is currently involved actively in resolving human-elephant conflicts (HEC) incommunities surrounding the park and conducting various tools to gain the engagement of local communities and park rangers to identify the HEC mitigation measures. Her interest is conducting the wildlife ecology study and create conservation. strategies using a science-based approach to strengthen wildlife conservation and research in Thailand. She developed the approach to her teaching style using knowledge of wildlife conservation, experiences, and networks and have integrated the sustainability concept into the B.A. Program in Sustainable Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Bibliography
For over 10 years (2000-2012), Dr. Chution Savini worked as a wildlife conservation scientist for Wildlife Conservation Management, Thailand Program, an international organization that aims to conserve the world’s largest wilderness places in priority regions. Her roles involved managing research at the KhaengKrachan Forest Complex (Thailand), including fieldwork, training, teaching and outreach activities. During this period, she focused on capacity building training for all stakeholders (government agencies, local communities, and the private sector) and I developed strategies for teaching and training various groups of adult learners including park rangers, graduates, and conservation activists.
Since 2012 She has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM), International College for Sustainability Studies (SWUIC), Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand), where she served as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs (2012-2015) and Assistant Dean for Research (2015-2016).
Dr. Chuition has developed the approach to her teaching style using knowledge of wildlife conservation, experiences, and networks and has integrated the sustainability concept into the B.A. Program in Sustainable Hospitality and Tourism Management. She taught two levels: 1) fundamental courses include Introduction to Sustainability (HTM201) and Introduction to Ecotourism (HTM331), and 2) Ecotourism concentration courses include Ecotourism Management (HTM332), Wildlife Conservation Management (HTM333), National Park Management (HTM334), and research projects. Besides her academic work, she participated in several wildlife conservation projects at both national and international levels. She was the Chair of The Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (2013-2015). Its role is to promote scientific understanding and conservation of tropical environments by organizing international conferences and publishing scientific journals. The various case studies I encountered helped me with the development of class materials. She served as a committee member in the graduate level Conservation Programs. Since 2019, She has been a member of the IUCN SSC Asian Elephant Specialist Group under the International Union for Conservation of Nature, an international organization working in the field of nature conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.
