Is CSR important for now?

CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility is translated separately, for corporate refers to non-profit activities, for social refers to society that is a social group can be living or nonliving, depending on which society we want to develop, and for responsibility refers sharing responsibility both in the positive and negative aspects of doing business until it comes to doing creative activities for stakeholders. If combined together, it will mean corporate social and environmental responsibility which is to operate under ethical principles and good management by taking responsibility for society and the environment both inside and outside the organization to lead to the ultimate goal is sustainable development. 

 

CSR is important to the organization because organizations cannot operate without a society or environment support. The motivation of social responsibility is to preserve society and protect the environment so that the organization can continue to work in the long term even if it loses profit in the short term. If people can have easier access to information means that people will also be more easily aware of the problems facing society and the environment. Especially the problem that arises as a result of the actions of the organization. In this case, most people have started to expect more corporate social responsibility. Many people choose only products from organizations that are responsible.

 

There are many different types of CSR activities because there are no fixed rules. It makes creating activities come out in many forms which can be classified into groups of CSR activities including In process, After process, and As process. In the process of CSR are social and environmental activities that affect stakeholders and the organization's environment, such as taking care of employee welfare, producing items that do not harm the environment, taking responsibility for customers, doing activities to reduce global warming, etc. After the process of CSR are social and environmental activities that affect society and the environment that are not directly related to the operations of the organization such as reforestation, scholarship donations, awareness campaigns, and helping disaster victims. As process is an organization established to help society and the environment Not for profit, such as foundations or charitable associations, etc.

 

Nowadays, many organizations are interested in CSR because it can make customers use their products and services. Not only the environment but also society are important, so if people focus on preserving the environment only but who preserve the environment aren’t we? This is the reason why CSR is important.
